Former Armenian minister of internal affairs, informal leader of «Pan-Armenian National Movement» former ruling party Vano Siradeghian, who is wanted by the international police indicted in committing a number of grave crimes, is allowed to register as candidate for deputy of the National Assembly. The court, to which the persons empowered to act for Siradeghian applied to, obliged the department of passports and visas of the ministry of internal affairs to issue a reference to the pretender being on the run that he permanently resided in Armenia before April 3, 2000. Thus the court decided that the residential qualification, fixed in the electoral legislation regarding the candidates for deputies, does not prevent Vano Siradeghian from participating in the elections. Tavush district electoral commission will register candidates for deputies, which will be admitted to participation in the elections in 75 district, of which Siradeghian until recently was deputy. Let us remind that he was deprived of the deputy mandate in accordance with the law for missing over half of the meetings of the parliamentary session without good reason. The elections in the 75-th district will be held May 19.
