TURKISH PRIME MINISTER PLEDGED TO TAKE MEASURES AGAINST ISRAEL FOR ACTIONS AGAINST PALESTINE
Turkish Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit refused the opposition call to cancel the $668 million contract with Israel on modernization of tanks. «The deal is made and cannot be cancelled,» - the Premier said. «Arminfo» agency reports referring to «Associated Press,» the opposition parties in Turkey have called upon the country government to cancel the contract in response to Israel's actions against Palestine. At the same time Ecevit noted Turkey could take certain influence measures regarding Israel. But the Premier did not specify what kind of measures he exactly meant.
