38 thousand refugees from Azerbaijan and other regions of former USSR have become Armenian citizens for recent year and a half. Head of the administration for refugees and migration Gagik Yeganian has stated this. Since according to the regulations of the law currently in force the term to obtain citizenship by refugees is until 2001, the government has proposed to extend the terms of obtaining citizenship for two years.
