In the second round of 2009 World Chess Cup, which kicked off on November 21 in Khanty-Mansiysk, US's Varuzhan Hakobian drew the game with Ruslan Ponomaryov of Russia. As a result, each chess player added 1 point to his score.
 
Hakobian vs. Ponomaryov match winner will be announced after the tie break scheduled for November 26.
