Tigran Sargsyan: Disabled persons need to be integrated in society
Opening the government meeting on December 3 Armenian prime minister Tigran Sargsyan highlighted the problem of integration of disabled persons in society. "There are 178 000 disabled persons in Armenia today, more than 8000 out of them are children,"  he said.

According to prime minister, it is necessary to unite efforts of the state and relevant organizations and "to change the attitudes towards them in the society".

Annual commemoration of the International Day of Disabled Persons on December 3 aims to promote better understanding of the problems associated with disabilities, rights of persons with disabilities and to raise awareness of what benefits come with the involvement of persons with disabilities in the various fields of political, social, economic and cultural life of their communities.
