Next ANC meeting due on March 1


Yesterday, January 8, Armenian National Congress (ANC) held a rally in support of Haykakan Zhamanak newspaper editor, parliamentary candidate Nikol Pashinyan (currently under arrest).

At the rally, the ex-member of Heritage party, Artur Sardaryan announced formation of "People Power" new social political initiative, which will join ANC.

ANC leader Levon Ter-Petrossian expressed his resentment over the absence of Nikol Pashinyan, characterizing it as a gross violation of the latter's human rights and the law in general.

As Levon Ter-Petrossian emphasized, "people's continued struggle after falsified presidential elections and March 1, 2008 evens is an important victory."

The next ANC meeting was scheduled for March 1.
