HEYDAR ALIYEV DID NOT SECOND IDEA OF HIS PRESIDENTIAL TERM PROLONGATION
Azerbaijan's President Heydar Aliyev was against the proposal on prolongation of presidential term from 5-7 years presented at the milli mejlis meeting. He was also against the consideration of that issue at the parliament meetings in future. When thanking deputies for the initiative, Aliyev noted there was no need to introduce amendments regarding presidential term prolongation into the Constitution. It should be reminded, February 1 deputy Eldar Ibragimov presented the proposal regarding presidential term prolongation in his speech. Many progovernmental deputies seconded the proposal.
