Armenian Foreign Ministry: Ankara passes from preconditions to warnings

Commenting on Ahmet Davutoglu’s statement on Ankara’s readiness to ratify protocols within 3 days, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian noted that Protocols could just as well be ratified several months ago.

“Protocols were submitted to Turkish parliament as early as October 2009, and that’s a long time,” Edward Nalbandian stated adding that Ankara’s statements signal that Turkey acknowledges to artificially dragging out Protocols’ ratification, which is an obvious violation of agreements reached.

“Even before taking any steps towards implementation of agreement, Turkey threatened to halt the rapprochement process, adding the language of threats to the language of preconditions. Negotiations can’t progress unless Turkey reconsiders its methods,” Edward Nalbandian emphasized.
