Formation of Armenia-Turkey historic committee: delayed-action bomb to Protocols
The idea of Armenia-Turkey historic committee formation can be compared with delayed-action bomb to Protocols, according to former ambassador at large, ex member of TARC David Hovhannesyan.

As he noted during Armenia-Turkey expert discussions in Yerevan, "Creation of this structure will further delay Armenia-Turkey rapprochement process. Turkey's recognition of Armenian Genocide is necessary for establishment of bilateral relations."

Ankara's attempts to link Azerbaijan's interests with Armenia-Turkey normalization process suggest the process to be nothing but imitation, the expert concluded.

The Protocols aimed at normalization of bilateral ties and opening of the border between Armenia and Turkey were signed in Zurich by Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian and his Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu on October 10, 2009, after a series of diplomatic talks held through Swiss mediation. On January 12, 2010, the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia found the protocols conformable to the country's Organic Law.
