U.S. Congressman Adam Schiff announced that he recently hired Mary Hovagimian to work in his Pasadena office as a district representative. Mary will handle outreach and assistance, and she will assist constituents with business and technology, education, emergency preparedness, and homeland security related issues, Mr. Sean Oblack, spokesman for Rep. Schiff, told PanARMENIAN.Net.
"Mary is a welcome addition to our office and she is already proving what a valuable asset she is going to be to our team," said Schiff. "Mary is bright, friendly and outgoing, and we are lucky to have her serving the people of the 29th Congressional District."
"Congressman Schiff and his superb staff members are always extending a helping hand to his constituents, and I am honored to be the newest member of his team," said Hovagimian. "I am proud to be a part of the 29th Congressional District, and I'm so happy to be working with its great people. Furthermore, I am prepared to put forth maximum effort to be a successful district representative."
As a Glendale resident for over seventeen years, Mary knows the district well. Growing up, Mary attended Armenian schools in Glendale and Hollywood, learning to speak in both Eastern and Western Armenian dialects. Mary earned an Associate of Arts degree from Glendale Community College and her Bachelor of Arts degree in communication studies from USC's Annenberg School for Communication.
Mary has always been an active member of her community. She is a tireless volunteer, having served as a tutor and teaching assistant to elementary and junior high school students and a speech and debate coach at Glendale Community College. As a student she also participated in the Armenian Student Association at Glendale Community College and USC, and she was a member of the Armenian Youth Federation in high school.
