Oleg Yesayan labeled bellicose appeals of Polad Bul-Bul-ogly as imprudence

On May 10, Armenia’s Ambassador to Russia Oleg Yesayan met with Armenian veterans of the Great Patriotic War in Moscow. Diplomats of the Armenian Embassy in Moscow also participated in the meeting.

Greeting the veterans, the Ambassador congratulated them on the Victory Day. He noted that May 9 is also the day of Shushi liberation and establishment of the NKR Defense Army, stressing the importance of these events in the war imposed on Artsakh.

Oleg Yesayan also referred to bellicose statements of the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Russia. “Not a single diplomat would make appeals instigating ethnic hatred and war in a friendly country while marking the victory achieved through joint efforts of the former USSR veterans,” the Armenian Ambassador said. He strictly condemned the Azerbaijani diplomat’s efforts to engage citizens of Armenia’s ally in this adventure. “Similar appeals are imprudence, a war cannot solve any problem; it just deepens old problems and causes new ones. Nevertheless, if the events develop by a military scenario, Armenia and NKR will receive another request from war instigators on termination of hostilities,” the Armenian Ambassador noted.

On May 10, during his meeting with Azerbaijani veterans of the Great Patriotic War, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Russia Polad Bul-Bul-ogly stated that the Azerbaijani people should be ready for a new war in Karabakh.
