"CURTAILMENT OF GAS SUPPLY WILL NOT TELL ON COUNTRY ECONOMY AND ENERGY SUPPLY," - Minister of Energy asserts
Minister of Energy of Armenia Karen Galustian stated the decision of "Itera" corporation on curtailment of gas supply to Armenia would not tell on the consumer energy supply regime and the country economy. He confirmed Armenia had accumulated debts for the received gas, which in fact caused curtailment of the blue fuel supply. The Minister noted the debts were formed due to suspension of operation of the atomic power station for planned preventive maintenance and refueling. It was decided to compensate for the electric power deficiency by additional gas supplies. Armenia failed to pay for the entire volume of additional gas on stipulated terms. In Galustian's words, the debt for September makes 2.3 million dollars. And it will be necessary to pay 5 millions in October. The total debt for the gas supplied to Armenia makes almost 40 million dollars.
