THE COMMETTEE OF MINISTERS OF THE EUROPEAN COUNCIL HAS PASSED A RESOLUTION REGARDING THE PRINCIPLE OF TERRITORIAL INTEGRITY
Today the committee of ministers of the European Council, according to the initiative of Azerbaijan's representatives in PACE, has passed the resolution stating that the right of peoples for self-determination in the Caucasus and the Balkan has to be respected according to the principles and the goal of the UNO charter, the regulations of the international law including regulations regarding the territorial integrity of countries. "Use of force in order to capture territory is not acceptable and no results following to that can be legally recognized", is stated in the document signed by the all members of the committee of ministers. The committee of ministers has appealed to Armenia and Azerbaijan to refrain from statements for military settlement of Karabakh conflict that will be able to intensify animosity. Head of Azerbaijani delegation in PACE Ilkham Aliev has stated that the resolution passing is " a great achievement for Azerbaijan and it will assist strongly in the work of Azerbaijani representatives in PACE".
