U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said that the U.S. Administration is disposed towards improvement of relations with Russia, what is confirmed by the adoption of the UN Resolution on Iran. The cooperation with Russia within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group is also positive, Clinton stated in Yerevan.
"However, there are issues, with which we do not agree, it refers to Georgia and recognition of independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia. Nevertheless, it should be made clear for the world that the U.S. and Russia are working together," noted Clinton.
As for the development of democracy in Armenia, the U.S. Secretary of State thinks that observance of human rights and democratic institutions will ensure Armenia's long-term development. "We observed diligent people and huge capital here, and I strongly believe that your future is in your hands. Armenia also needs to have independent or alternative sources of energy, what will allow the country to move forward more rapidly," concluded the U.S. Secretary of State.
