The visit of U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to the South Caucasus was aimed to dilute Russia’s influence in the region, according to Gagik Harutyunyan, head of Noravank scientific and educational center.
“Clinton's statements can be rated as pro-Armenian, although she tries to keep balance,” he told a news conference on July 7.
He rated resumption of hostilities in Karabakh as unlikely.
Commenting on Clinton’s visit to the Armenian Genocide Memorial, Harutyunyan said that chances for recognition of the Armenian Genocide by the U.S. are high.
