On October 21, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan met with CoE Secretary General Thorbjorn Jagland.

At the meeting, Armenian President emphasized the importance of the CoE Forum for the Future of Democracy.

As the President noted, protection of human rights and democratic values are the cornerstones of Armenian statehood. “Since declaration of independence, Armenia has passed a long way in this direction; and we’re ready to continue improvements in this field,” he noted.

CoE Secretary General expressed his agreement with the President, specifically noting Armenia’s achievements in the field of democracy, presidential press service reported.
