Situation with Armenian citizens’ constitutional rights improving

Serious progress in constitutional defense of human rights was observed in Armenia, despite Armenian citizens’ being deprived of the right to address the Constitutional Court of Armenia until the year 2006, according to CCA chairman Gagik Harutyunyan.

As he stated at Yerevan-hosted 15th international conference on constitutional right, conference participates aim to find effective solutions enabling deference of human rights through constitutional justice.

Harutyunyan characterized the situation with Armenian citizens’ constitutional rights as steadily improving. “However, in practice, we have a number of unresolved issues, which is proved by the verdicts of the European Court of Human Rights,” CC chairman told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.
