TURKISH BUSINESSMEN WANT TO DEVELOP "ARMENIAN TOURISM"
. 150 USA citizens, of Armenian origin, organized a pilgrimage to Ani, the medieval capital of Armenia that is located in the territory of Turkey at the present time. Society of Turkish-Armenian cooperation is among those that helped to organize the tour of American Armenians to the motherland of their ancestors. In the article about the pilgrimage to Ani, Turkish newspaper "Turkish Daily News" wrote the opinion of the head of the Turkish-Armenian business cooperation council, Kaan Salak, who thinks that "the gates between Turkey and Armenia have to be open". According to his words, Ani for Armenians is a holy place. He is sure, that the opening of the borders will have a positive impact on the Kars region economy, as "6 million Armenians, desiring to see the ruins of Ani, will become an impulse for tourism development in that region".
