Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet ballet to premiere in 2011 in Yerevan

National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater director Kamo Hovhannesyan briefed the December 9 news conference participants on next year’s theatre program.

“In 2011, AMD 45 million will be allocated by the Armenian government for the staging of Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet ballet; AMD 100 million funding was provided for Aida and Sayat-Nova operas’ staging”.

“Next year, we intend to work at restoration of the old repertoire; some tours are also envisaged,” Hovhannesyan said.
