Gunnar Wiegand, European Commission’s Director for Eastern Europe, South Caucasus and Central Asia, said that currently the European Union is more actively involved in conflicts settlement than earlier.

And the EU is ready to play a useful role in the Karabakh conflict settlement, Wiegand told a press conference in Yerevan.

“The EU actively follows the process of the conflict settlement within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group, as an EU member state is Minsk Group’s co-chair country. We are ready to assist the two countries’ societies to get prepared for the Karabakh conflict resolution,” said Wiegand.
