CSTO Secretary General Nikolay Bordyuzha said that the CSTO is concerned over the Azerbaijani defense budget growth.

“The disproportional growth of the Azerbaijani military budget raises certain concerns,” Bordyuzha told an international conference in Moscow.

According to him, Armenia, a CSTO member state, is under “permanent information pressure” in the South Caucasus.

“The Georgian authorities’ stance, their intensifying the anti-Russian hysteria and measures taken for rehabilitation of the military capacity through the assistance of leading western countries do not promote stabilization of the region,” said Bordyuzha.

Besides, events in the republics of North Caucasus also have a destabilizing impact, Interfax quoted him as saying.
