MEDIATORS MADE SURE THERE WAS NO SENSE TO SPEAK ABOUT SUBORDINATING OF KARABAKH TO AZERBAIJAN, MELKUMIAN SAID
YEREVAN, May 21. /Mediamax/. NKR Foreign Minister Naira Melkumian says the fact that Nagorno Karabakh does not participate in the dialogue of Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents is caused by unwillingness of Heydar Aliyev to negotiate with two Armenian representatives simultaneously.
Mediamax's correspondent reports from Stepanakert that Melkumian has stressed that "the conflict will never be settled without taking into account the Karabakh's position, and this was confirmed by the mediators". The Minister noted that the mediators had come to a conclusion that it was useless to speak about subordinating NKR to Azerbaijan, because thus the conflict would never be settled. According to her, visits to the NKR regions by the mediators, meetings with people were aimed at studying the NKR population's attitude towards the approaches of the mediators to the conflict settlement. --0--
