MEDIATORS WILL WORK ON NEW PROPOSALS WITH "DOUBLED ENERGY", RUSSIAN MEDIATOR SAID
YEREVAN, May 21. /Mediamax/. Russian co-chairman of the OSCE Minsk Group Nikolai Gribkov said today in Yerevan that after the meetings in Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh and Armenia, "we will work with doubled energy over the proposals and ideas that may be useful for the settlement of the Karabakh conflict".
Speaking today with the journalists in Yerevan, the Russian diplomat said the co-chairmen are certain that the upcoming meeting of the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan in Geneva "must be very well prepared for". "We must be convinced that the next round of talks between Kocharian and Aliev will truly become a step forward", Nikolai Gribkov said.
The U.S. mediator Carey Cavanaugh noted that the "negotiation process is not an even path", and that one shouldn't set "artificial dates" of its end. The resolution of the conflict must be acceptable not only for the leadership of Armenia and Azerbaijan, but also for the people of these states, Carey Cavanaugh stressed. --0--
