Attacks on foreign sites by ‘Turk 1923’ group of hackers are preparation for April 24

CSO at Smart-Tech LTD Ruben Muradyan said that large-scale attacks on foreign websites by ‘Turk 1923’ group of hackers are a preparation for April 24.

“This is the first attack of such scale implemented towards Armenia on the Web not by Azerbaijan, but by Turkey, what is a signal before April 24, the day of commemoration of the Armenian Genocide,” Muradyan told a press conference.

According to him, all attacks are well coordinated. The hackers attacked about 96,000 websites.

Muradyan said that although the data on the number of hacked websites is doubtful, it is impossible to check it.

Meanwhile, information security expert Tigran Kocharyan said that the attacks should have an inverse effect, as the owners of the hacked websites may side with Armenia.

Earlier, Internet Haber reported that ‘Turk 1923’ group has hacked over 6,700 foreign websites containing information on the Armenian Genocide and placed there reports denying the Genocide in Turkish and English languages.
