Armenian ambassador to Russia Oleg Yesayan said that if he were in any other country, he would spare no effort, like any other ambassador, to present and confirm his country’s stance.

“However, I am not going to do it at home. I will present the reality: no changes have been recorded in our country’s stance on the Karabakh issue,” Yesayan said during a meeting with the Forum of Armenian Organizations of Moscow (FAOM).

He reminded that one of the Madrid principles, which are accepted as a basis in the negotiations with Azerbaijan, refers to the right to self-determination.

“The two parties have agreed to it. Armenia is interested in the conflict settlement, while Karabakh’s inevitable participation is among binding terms of it. People’s consolidation is required for solution of any task faced by a country. Unfortunately, anti-Armenian moods due to the Karabakh conflict have become such a uniting national idea in Azerbaijan,” said Yesayan.

According to the Armenian diplomat, Armenia should clarify its stance and cement its positions.

“We need a powerful, prosperous and strong Armenia,” he concluded.
