MENAGARISHVILI NAMED THE REPORTS CONCERNING GEORGIA'S INTENTION TO STATION NATO BASES ON ITS TERRITORY "GROUNDLESS RUMORS"
YEREVAN, March 28. /Mediamax/. Foreign Minister of Georgia Irakly Menagarishvili said at today's briefing that reports concerning Tbilisi's intention to station bases of NATO on its territory are "groundless rumors".
"Today we're dealing with the problem of Russian bases, the problem of withdrawal of foreign troops from our territory. Stationing any other foreign military bases in Georgia is out of question", stressed Irakly Menagarishvili.
Commenting upon statements of representatives of official Baku concerning Azerbaijan's intention to station NATO bases on its territory, the Georgian Minister said. "Georgia can't forbid any country to station foreign military bases or objects on its territory. But at the same time we call on all the states to make efforts to overcome, and not aggravate present contradictions in the region", Irakly Menagarishvili said. --0--
