YEREVAN, March 28. /Mediamax/. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Vardan Oskanian voiced his hope today that the U.S. President George Bush, in his traditional address to the American Armenians on 24 April, will give an assessment to the 1915 events similar to the one he gave during his pre-electoral campaign.
In the interview to the Public Television of Armenia Minister Oskanian said: "We hope that the President of the USA will manage to keep his electoral pledge".
During his recent visit to Chicago the U.S. President George Bush said: "The Armenians are great people. You know I made a promise to you before I was elected", Mediamax was informed in the Armenian National Committee (ANC) of Illinois.
During his pre-electoral campaign George Bush said "the Armenians were subjected to a genocidal campaign". He also promised "to ensure that our nation properly recognizes the tragic suffering of the Armenian people". --0--
