Georgian opposition to announce May 2 as National Disobedience Day

Georgian National Council will announce May 2 as National Disobedience Day, the ex-Speaker of the Georgian Parliament and present leader of the opposition Democratic Movement, United Georgia Party said.

In an interview to A Week’s Palette newspaper, Nino Burdzhanadze, currently on a stay in France, refused to provide details of the protest rally, however noting that the action will expand throughout Georgia.

After the meetings at the French Ministries of Defense and Foreign Affairs behind the closed doors, the ex-speaker stated that Paris adequately assesses the situation in Georgia and won’t leave Georgian people unattendedm should President Saakashvili send zonder brigades against the peaceful population.
