The leader of Heritage opposition party, Armenian parliamentarian Raffi Hovannisian who’s been on hunger strike since March 15, thanked all citizens and politicians who had visited him at the Liberty Square.

According to Heritage press service, on March 26 through 30, Hovannisian has been visited by the Armenian Healthcare Minister Harutyun Kushkyan, Police Chief Alik Sargsyan, the U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Marie Yovanovitch, Armenian parliamentarians, representatives of international organisations, public figures, journalists, writers, students and professors.

During the extraordinary congress of Heritage on March 15, Raffi Hovannisian urged Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan to resign and thus to ensure fair and independent elections in the country. He also announced the start of “Hungry for Change: Freedom and Justice in Armenia” hunger strike and promised to coordinate his future steps with the party members.
