On Saturday, April 9, world title challenger Khoren Gevor will be in the “lion’s den,” Magdeburg, Germany, home to both WBO super middleweight champion Robert Stieglitz, as well as Stieglitz’ promoter SES Boxing.
“Everyone knows that in sports there’s always a home advantage,” says Gevor. “Unfortunately, this is especially true in boxing. I am a guest at an SES event in their city. I have no illusions that here in Magdeburg it will be very difficult for me to win on points.”
“So I know that I must win by KO – but this is okay for me. I am prepared for it and I have the goal to knock out Stieglitz. I don’t want there to be anything to discuss at the end.”
Gevor’s manager Peter Schulze has already requested that a new set of judges who have not previously judged Stieglitz fights be appointed by the WBO. “So far we have not received a final decision by the WBO,” said Schulze, adding “But naturally we will accept every decision of the WBO,” fightnews.com reported.
