Turkologist Levon Hovsepyan said that the future composition of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) will not anyhow differ from the current one.

“The ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) will continue predominating in the parliament and government,” Hovsepyan told a press conference in Yerevan. “Two major opposition forces - Republican People's Party (CHP) and Nationalist Movement Party MHP – will be in the parliament as well.”

“The pro-Kurdish Peace and Democracy party will also be represented in the parliament. As for Armenian-Turkish candidates, Turkey needs their nomination for the European Union. Even if they join the parliament, they will be representing the interests of the party that nominated them rather than defending the Armenian community of Istanbul,” said Hovsepyan.

The parliamentary election will be held in Turkey on June 12. 3 or 4 Armenians may be included in party lists, but there is no final decision on it yet.
