CIS COLLECTIVE SECURITY AGREEMENT MEMBER-STATES TO ESTABLISH A CENTRAL MILITARY DEPARTMENT BODY
YEREVAN, March 6. /Mediamax/. Representatives of the member-states of CIS Collective security agreement will consider today the issue of establishing a central body of military department, "Argumenti i facti-Novosti" agency reported.
According to the information of the Defense Ministry of Russia, this issue was put on the agenda considering the wish of the Agreement participants to have their own bodies of military leadership. At present, the Headquarters on coordination of military cooperation of CIS countries is functioning within the frames of CIS. However, due to considerable disagreements between member-states of the agreement and the countries which are not participants, this body is unable to operatively make decisions. The conference will be held on the level of military experts, who are to prepare proposals on decisions planning by the CIS Council of Defense ministers, the meeting of which is to be held in May. These proposals will later be confirmed at the Council of CIS heads. --0--
