TURKISH FM IS CONCERNED OVER POSSIBLE DISCUSSION OF ARMENIAN RESOLUTION IN THE IRANIAN PARLIAMENT
09.02.2001, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Ismail Cem will travel to Iran February 12. Cem is expected to discuss with Iranian officials "the possibility that allegations of the Armenian genocide will be taken up at the Iranian Parliament".
As the Turkish Cumhuriyet paper reports, Turkey's concerns arose after Armenian Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanian's visit to Tehran. Cem is expected to convey the message that "such allegations would seriously damage regional peace as well as bilateral relations". --0--
