Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan commented on recent statement by Iranian Ayatollah Seyed Hassan Ameli suggesting the presence of Afghan mojahedins in the territory of Karabakh.
“True, there was a time when subdivisions of Afghan mojahedins were stationed in Karabakh. However, after relevant agreements, they were removed,” the Minister stated in the parliament, adding that mojahedins suffered significant losses as a result of Artsakh actions.
Recently, Iranian Ayatollah Seyed Hassan Ameli stated that Iran supplied weapons to Azeri troops who experienced armament shortage while fighting in battles for Shushi. According to him, thousands of Afghan soldiers were brought to frontline to support Azeri side.
