Turkey tired of waiting for Azerbaijan to join Nabucco

On June 6, an agreement on Nabucco gas pipeline will be signed in Turkey, Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz said.

The contract will be signed by OMV (Austria), BOTAS (Turkey), Bulgargaz (Bulgaria), Transgaz (Romania), Mol Natural Gas (Hungary) and RWE (Germany) companies.

As Yildiz noted, the project sponsors will try to get specific response from Azerbaijan as to participation in the project: “In case of Azerbaijan’s negative response, we’ll start talks with Turkmenistan, Iraq and Iran. This project is of great importance both to us and Europe. That’s why we can’t waste time. We’ll use all options available for Nabucco implementation,” he said, APA reported citing CNN-Turk TV Channel.
