New social network for Toyota cars to debut in 2012

Toyota Motor Corp. and Salesforce.com Inc. agreed to create a social network that would allow owners of future Toyota electric and plug-in hybrids connect with each other and obtain information on their vehicles, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Social Network will be called "Toyota Friend". The service will allows owners of the vehicles to exchange real time updates, or "tweets," with other Toyota drivers, connect with local dealers and remotely obtain diagnostic information about their hybrid vehicles, such as battery usage.

It will debut in Japan before a global roll out later in 2012.

Toyota is represented in Armenia by Toyota Yerevan company since 2007. Toyota is a popular brand in Armenia, with most of traffic police cars being Toyota cars.
