Head of European Integration NGO Karen Bekaryan said the May 26 statement adopted on the sidelines of the G8 Summit in Deauville by the leaders of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chair countries with respect to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict resolution is disadvantageous for Azerbaijan.

“The statement stresses that all parties to the conflict should be engaged in talks for further signature of a peace agreement,” Bekaryan told a press conference in Yerevan.

According to him, the Armenian negotiators were honest with the public, while Azerbaijan has been presenting a distorted picture for a long time.

“If mediators are indeed so resolute and unanimous on the terms of the conflict settlement, it means that Azerbaijan will have to fulfill all the provisions of the May 26 statement. And, if fails to do so, Baku will come across tougher problems,” Bekaryan said.
