Moscow hosted Judo Grand Slam, during which sportsmen could qualify for the 2012 London Olympic Games.
The tournament brought together 463 judo wrestlers from 63 countries. Armenia was represented by World Championship bronze winner and World Cup winner Hovhannes Davtyan and Gor Harutyunyan (both in 60kg weight category), as well as World Cup winner Armen Nazaryan (66kg.)
Davtyan celebrated two victories, but was defeated in the third fight by French Sofiance Milous, who won silver. Davtyan was the fifth.
Nazaryan also finished the fifth, suffering a defeat by Russia’s Musa Mogushkov in the third fight.
Harutyunyan’s participation was unsuccessful, and he has not managed to gain Olympic points for Armenia’s team.
Davtyan and Nazaryan will leave for Bucharest, which will host World Cup on June 4-5.
