HSBC Bank Armenia stimulates equal opportunities in labor market

HSBC Bank Armenia continues to stimulate equal opportunities in labor market by recruiting staff with diverse skills and abilities. This provides the bank with competitive advantage by maximizing its staff and business potential.

Currently HSBC Bank Armenia hosts more than 30 interns and many of them will likely receive permanent job offers in the near future. The interns were selected among 200 applicants. Another evidence of the bank’s successful Human Resource policy is the recently published survey among 300 future financial sector specialists, which revealed HSBC Bank Armenia as the most attractive employer, the Bank said in a press release.

HSBC Bank Armenia is an equal opportunity employer and treats its current and prospective employees without discrimination regardless of sex, ethnic origin and physical disabilities. Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs in Armenia, “Mission East” charity centre and “Huysi Kamurj” (Bridge of Hope) NGO have recently awarded HSBC Bank Armenia with a Certificate for adapting office premises for the disabled staff and for recruiting them.

“HSBC has been employing disabled people since 1996 and was the first company to do so in Armenia. So far, we have 4 disabled employees in HSBC, 2 of who work with us from the very first day. One of them has also grown in career up to the Team Leader's position,” said Elvina Aghajanyan, Head of Human Resources department.

HSBC Group has a diverse workforce of over 335,000 people in 7,500 offices in 87 countries and territories worldwide. In Armenia HSBC employs 360 specialists coming from various backgrounds, with or without previous work experience. The average age of the bank employees is 30, male to female ratio being 40 per cent and 60 per cent respectively, absolute majority is trilingual, with 8 other languages in line.
