Pyunik coach disappointed with performance in UEFA Euro League qualifier

Yerevan’s Pyunik FC coach Vardan Minasyan shared his feelings after a crushing 0:4 loss of the team in a UEFA Euro League qualifier vs. Viktoria Plzen of Czech Republic.

“I’m very dissatisfied with Pyunik’s performance,” Minasyan told a news conference in Yerevan. “The team were unready psychologically and paled in comparison with strong rivals like Viktoria. Pyunik didn’t show the game I expected from them,” he said.

Head coach of Viktoria Plzen, Pavel Vrba, was, expectedly, happy with his team yet sorry they didn’t strike more goals.

“The score does not mean Pyunik’s performance was bad, it only suggests Viktoria was a stronger team,” he said, adding, “we’re prepared to play equally well in Plzen-hosted return match.”

The return match is due July 19 in Plzen, Czech Republic.
