Although the number of travelers in Armenia willing to get insurance policy increases year-by-year, Armenia does not consider implementation of the compulsory tourist insurance, in contrast to Schengen visa countries.
“Armenia strives to attract as many tourists as possible and does not plan to implement compulsory tourist insurance yet,” Deputy Executive Director of Ingo Armenia Insurance company Arevshat Meliksetyan told PanARMENIAN.Net correspondent in an interview.
This proposal should be addressed to the Ministry of Economy of the country, according to him.
As regards internal tourism, the company representative considered it evident that Armenian citizens do not obtain insurance police, for example, for traveling to Tsakhkadzor. “Whereas grandfathers and grandmothers from Vienna immediately upon their arrival obtain insurance for the same trip,” Meliksetyan said.
Among most safe countries in the world the specialist pointed out European countries, U.S. and then Asian countries.
70-80% of Armenian tourists get insurance policy when going out of the country.
