DASHNAKTSOUTYUN PARTY REJECTS ACCUSATIONS VOICED BY MANUCHARIAN
20.10.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. "Ashot Manucharian has repeatedly made sensational statements which later appeared to be groundless," the representative of the Supreme Body of Dashnaktsoutyun and parliamentarian Armen Rustamian said in his interview to Mediamax.
At the October 18 press conference the political secretary of the Union of Socialist Forces of Armenia Ashot Manucharian announced that Dashnaktsouyun party acts in the interests of the US foreign policy.
According to Rustamian Dashnaktsoutyun party, having 110 years experience, has always been guided by a precise ideology, and in this light it is senseless to accuse the party in pursuing pro-western activity. "We pursue exclusively pro-Armenian policy," Rustamian underlined.
As to Manucharian's statements saying that the October 27, 1999 act of terrorism in the Armenian parliament was allegedly conditioned by disagreement of the Prime Minister Vazgen Sarkissian and Speaker of the parliament Karen Demirchian with the plan on territorial swap between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Rustamian said that "Manucharian's arguments are lack of any facts and bases and are more than questionable." --0--
