Polish ambassador: Warsaw summit to become cornerstone of Eastern Partnership

The Eastern Partnership to be held in Warsaw late September will become a cornerstone of the initiative, according to Polish ambassador to Armenia.

Commenting on EU talks with Armenia at a news conference in Yerevan, ambassador Zdzislaw Raczynski said the most complicated issues are still to be coordinated, these being free trade zone creation and visa regime facilitation.

The ambassador emphasized that Poland is one of the countries ready for establishment of firm relations with all EaP states.

The Eastern Partnership summit of heads of states and governments of EU countries and the Eastern Partnership countries will be held in Warsaw on September 29-30, 2011. An assessment of the achievements to date, and the increase of EU commitment to its Eastern partners will be the main aim of the summit. The Summit should increase the pace of further improvement of mutual relations and of EU integration. During the Summit there will be an informal dinner, two plenary sessions, and a common declaration will be signed.
