Yerevan hosted a round-table as part of Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum, with the representatives of European Commission, Armenian NGOs, members of national platform attending.
During the event, the European Commission member Andrea Fontana briefed those present on the EU projects aimed to increase the role of civil society in Eastern Partnership (EaP) states.
“Projects at the amount of 22-million euro envisage implementation of internal reforms, cooperation with local NGOs, intensification of ties between the societies of EaP states,” Fontana explained.
On September 29-30, Poland will host the second summit of Eastern Partnership, which will bring together leaders of 27 EU member states and of EU Eastern neighbours, European Council President, European Commission President, European Parliament President, EU High Representative for Foreign Policy, representatives of civil society and business environment. Plenary session will conclude with the adoption of a Joint Declaration.
