ACCORDING TO WASHINGTON PROFILE, ARMENIA AND AZERBAIJAN HAVE EQUAL NUMBER OF WARPLANES
Armenia has some 100 warplanes, just as Azerbaijan. The Washington ProFile reports in a material called "Military Aviation Age." The article, as reported by "Arka" agency, indicates the approximate number of warplanes possessed by other former Soviet countries. Thus, in compliance with the data of the Washington ProFile, Belarus has 294 planes, Georgia - 16, Kazakhstan - some 120, Kyrgyzstan - 30, Russia - 3.5 thousand, Turkmenistan - some 100, Ukraine - some 1 thousand, Uzbekistan - some 200, Lithuania - 17, Latvia -15, Estonia - 2. Tajikistan is not armed with warplanes. The Washington ProFile points out the list includes all types of warplanes, including the training ones. Part of the vehicles taken into account is not in a battle-worthy state.
