ArmTech Congress 2011, 4th high-tech industry and strategic business forum kicked off October 10 in Yerevan.
In his opening speech, Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan briefed those present on IT projects implemented in 2011 as well as innovative programs planned.
Among projects listed was the opening of Armenian-Indian study center at Yerevan State University to promote development of environmental protection and meteorology in Yerevan. The study center was created through cooperation of Armenian and Indian governments, Enterprise Incubator Foundation (EIF), as well as Indian IT company.
The PM further announced D-Link’s opening of an IT center in Gyumri and Mobile Applications Lab (mLab) ECA launching operations in Armenia to increase competitiveness of innovation companies.
According to Sargsyan, annual demand for IT experts in Armenia reaches 1000.
ArmTech Congress 2011 aims to promote high tech sector in Armenia, strengthen international business ties and attract investments. Representatives of HP, INTEL and other major Armenian, U.S. Russian and European companies were invited to participate.
