THE IRANIAN SIDE HAS FOUND FINANCIAL MEANS FOR ITS SECTION OF IRAN--ARMENIA GAS PIPELINE, DECLARED IN YEREVAN THE DEPUTY FOREIGN MINISTER OF IRAN
14.07.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. Yerevan and Tehran are giving much importance to the project of Iran-Armenia gas pipeline construction.
As was reported to MEDIAMAX in the press service of the government of Armenia, the deputy foreign minister of Iran Muhammad Hussein Adel informed this at the meeting with the prime minister of Armenia Andranik Margarian.
The deputy foreign minister of Iran noted that financial means are already found for the construction of the Iranian section of the pipeline, and some works are being carried out to draw foreign investments. Prime Minister Margarian suggested to the Iranian side realizing capital investments in the enterprises of Armenia where the natural gas is used as raw materials. Prime Minister named perspective the possibilities of the construction of Iran-Armenia oil pipeline and an oil-processing works in Meghri.
Muhammad Hussein Adel assured that these proposals are of great interest for Iran, and they will work in this direction. According to him, the perspective of the realization of transit goods transportation through Armenia, which will gain wide scope after the improvement of the road conditions and the construction of the Kajaran tunnel, aroused great enthusiasm in Iran. -0-
