OSCE HEAD NOT SHARING OPINION ON KARABAKH TALKS BEING UNSUCCESSFUL
The talks over the Nagorno Karabakh issue cannot be considered unsuccessful, although international mediators have not attained a peaceful settlement yet, OSCE chairman-in-office, foreign minister of Netherlands Jaap de Hoop Scheffer told "Turan" Azeri agency. Thereupon, he also disagreed with the opinion that time has come to shift the format of international mediation in the person of the OSCE Minsk Group. J. de Hoop Scheffer noted that the Minsk group has worked out a number of proposals on the conflict settlement and has created conditions for holding numerous meetings of different level officials representing the parties to conflict. "Finally, we stated ourselves that the Minsk Group represents the best way for continuing the conflict settlement talks," he said. Scheffer added that in the course of his meeting with leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan, held in New York lately, both parties expressed hope for the post-election period to become a convenient moment for resuming talks.
