HOLDING CONFIDENCE REFERENDUM IN COUNTRY NOT ACTUAL, ARMENIAN CONSTITUTIONAL COURT HEAD CONSIDERS
Chairman of the Armenian Constitutional Court (CC) Gagik Harutyunian does not consider that it is actual to make amendments to the law on holding referendum in the country. To remind, proceeding from the suit regarding the last presidential election, RoA CC proposed to amend the law by its resolution of April 16, 2003. Today Gagik Harutyunian told journalists that the law on referendum may be amended if a corresponding legislative initiative is provided and discussed in the parliament. "However I hold to the opinion it is not necessary now for the situation has changed in the country and as compared to April there is no opposition stirred up among people as it was then", - the CC head considers.
