The Iranian Foreign Ministry summoned Bahrain's charge d'affaires in Tehran to submit the country's formal complaint against an anti-Iran state-sponsored rally held in Manama.
Fars News Agency reported that Monday, Feb 14, a group of people claimed to be agents of Bahraini rulers gathered outside the Iranian Embassy in the Bahraini capital and chanted slogans against Iranian officials.
Later in the day, the Iranian Foreign Ministry delivered a formal complaint to the Bahraini envoy.
The Foreign Ministry also called the gathering unacceptable and asked Manama to prevent repetition of such actions.
The Bahraini envoy promised on his part to convey Tehran's protest to the Bahraini Government.
Iranian officials have always denied claims about Tehran's interference in Bahrain.
